Chicago, Styx, and the Carpenters—each group conjures its own special flavor from the musically rich 1970s. Nostalgic and fun, this course looks at the human stories behind each hit group and its individual members, their artistic inspirations, their hit songs and awards, plus a delightful assortment of songs from each creative powerhouse.

Warren Heilman earned a BM in music education from Kent State University and holds an MS and EdS from Georgia Southern. A retired band director, he has been a musical director at Bay Street Theatre, Collective Face Performance Ensemble, Savannah Children’s Theatre, and Armstrong State University.
