Turtles and snakes of Georgia’s coastal wetlands are the stars of the show in this up-close-and-personal animal encounter at Skidaway Island State Park. Live animal demonstrations reveal the fascinating lives of creatures who share our environment. Ranger-led discussion includes species characteristics and behaviors, identification, and handling, giving participants the opportunity to see and touch ambassador animals including box turtles, terrapins, and snakes.
- Program fee includes parking, program, and box lunch. Please communicate dietary restrictions.
Parking is limited; please consider parking at Skidaway Community Church and carpooling to the State Park.
Following lunch, participants are invited to remain for an optional half-hour marsh-side hike with Debbie Hornsby. Please wear sturdy walking shoes.
