Did you know that the Eastern bluebird is the official bird of Crossville, Cumberland County, and Fairfield Glade? Many local residents notice bluebirds are frequent visitors to their yards and install a nest box to further enjoy these beautiful birds. However, there is more to being a good bluebird landlord than just

putting up a bird house. In this class, we will talk about what backyard birders should be doing to ensure the most successful nesting results each season and how these successes are crucial in the conservation of native cavity nesting birds.

Michelle Bayless

From childhood, Michelle Bayless has been fascinated by the natural world around her. When she moved to

TN in 2017, she marveled at the abundance of bluebirds, especially in her neighborhood. It wasn't long

before she met Don Hazel and became involved in the Cumberland County Bluebird Club. Now president of

the CCBC, Michelle is anxious to share her growing knowledge of native cavity nesting birds with fellow

nature lovers.
