1049 Introduction to Calligraphy

Cyndi will teach the basics of italic script. Starting with letter formation and then setting up pages. Participants will be provided a double-ended lettering pen and paper. You’ll be inspired by the variety of uses for this simple calligraphy style. There is a $5 fee.

Cyndi needed a hobby to fill her time while on disability, and she thought that teaching herself calligraphy would improve her handwriting. Instead, she learned the “Art” of lettering. After mastering several fonts, she began teaching calligraphy to patients in the mental hospital where she worked as an occupational therapist. She has created invitations, announcements, letterheads, and posters using her calligraphy skills.
