Avalon Center implements a trauma-informed care approach, emphasizing safety, healing, and empowerment in its work with survivors. Abigail will explain the value of community partnerships to identify available services. She'll explore the ways that individuals and organizations can help to strengthen the network of support for the center and its clients.
Abigail Cokkinias
Abigail Cokkinias is the Outreach Coordinator for the Avalon Center, where she has worked since 2022. She began as a Domestic Violence Advocate serving Rhea, Bledsoe, and Van Buren counties, then transitioned to a Sexual Assault Advocate and later a Sexual Assault Long-Term Advocacy Case Manager. In her current role, she focuses on community outreach, education, and raising awareness to support survivors across the seven counties that the Center serves.
