Hand tufting is a craft that began along the coast of New England first as rug hooking. In this 2-day workshop, we will make small hand tufted art pieces. Combining drawing and fiber materials like yarn, elaborate designs and compositions can be made. We will explore drawing and design in tandem with making an actual tufted art piece. We will look at how artists use tufting for rug-making, object-making, and art, and explore yarn as a textural drawing tool.
