From Cold Readings to Monologues we will be working with the nuts and bolts of acting as a practical and academic discipline. Through the course we will be juxtaposing a style of acting known as psychological realism (this is what you commonly see on TV, film, and stage in America) with some experimental forms of dance theatre and other non-verbal movement practices.

This course aims to equip you with a number of acting tools and strategies –creativity, spontaneity, listening, collaboration, trust, presentation skills, oral literacy, visual literacy, and perspectives on personal, social, and cultural identity – for use both inside and outside the theatre.We will develop these skills through games, improvisation and collective creation. We will  study and practice specific technical skills that we can apply to the performance of characters and monologues. Great for Beginning to Intermediate actors. We will work from wherever you are.
