This introductory workshop will familiarize participants with the foundational tools and techniques required to carve wooden spoons, as well as other greenwood handcrafts.
Students will split wood for carving, learn the difference between working green and seasoned material, study which local species are best for treen, and practice how to safely use axe and knife to fashion beautiful, functional objects. Students will leave having made a coat hook and butter knife.
