In this class, students will gain an understanding of the role of Djembe drum,
storytelling, music, and dance in West African culture. Students will learn to play a
simple rhythm on the drum and listen to and participate in West African storytelling
using the drum. Students will also create a simple rhythm instrument and participate in a
dance.
