Save yourself time and money by learning to mend your loved garments, with a creative edge by including visible mending techniques!
Learning to mend can be empowering and environmentally conscious due to the global impact of textile waste. Creative expression will be encouraged as students learn to mend their clothes and other household textiles, giving each garment their own unique flair. Students will be encouraged to bring garments from home to repair and alter.
- In an effort to create a permanent took kit for all future mending needs, all students will need to source all materials. The supply list in listed under the "supply list" section of the class listing. A physical list will be issued in the first class, as well.
Students will need to source all materials for this class. The supply list is as follows:
Handmending Kit
- Sewing needles - assorted
- Straight pins
- Chalk (tailors chalk or kids chalk)
- Bees wax disc
Additonal hendmending materials will be available in the classroom for all students to use.
Additional Decorative Accessories
- Beads, lace, decorative trims of your choosing
