Observational Drawing (II): Tools in Practice
Adult | Registration opens 3/3/25 9:00 AM EST
For continuing students who have already completed Observational Drawing (I): Tools for Seeing.
This course focuses on applying and refining drawing techniques through still life and interior space studies. Students will explore how different objects—reflective, transparent, and fabric surfaces—interact with light while also making deliberate compositional choices to frame their drawings effectively.
Throughout the course, students will be encouraged to experiment with various drawing techniques and refine their personal approach to observation and mark-making. The final session will include an open-ended exploration where students can apply different techniques, emulate artists, or refine their own voice. This course will challenge students to refine their drawing practice, develop stronger compositional awareness, and build a personal relationship with their materials and artistic process.
