This course is designed as an introduction to chairmaking–participants will rive legs from green wood and shape members using traditional techniques. Students will use axes, froes, drawknives, reamers and spokeshaves amongst other tools and study how these ostensibly simple designs have been utilized for centuries to create timeless pieces that last for generations.
