Stacie Burley

Stacie Burley was born and raised in Colorado Springs, CO. She first came to Arkansas to attend John Brown University, where she played on the Women's Soccer Team. Upon her graduation from JBU, Stacie was offered a fellowship position to pursue her MBA with an emphasis in Leadership and Ethics. It was during that time that she organized a group of fellow Grad students in an effort to bring clean water to an indigenous community in Chajul, Guatemala. This effort was a culmination of people, companies, and donors that opened her eyes to the ways in which business could impact and change the world. The project was a huge success and the water purification system that was implemented is still being run as a microenterprise by the people of Chajul today. The model developed for Chajul was then passed off to John Brown University’s Enactus team- which now attempts to replicate the process in a new community in Guatemala each year. After receiving her MBA, Stacie was hired as a curriculum designer for the Soderquist Leadership Center, where she developed, trained, and facilitated content around organizational culture, team building, and executive coaching. As an adjunct professor at John Brown University, she taught and designed courses on marketing, business communication, leadership, and ethics. Due to her strong background in communications and design, she was asked to lead the communications team at the Soderquist Leadership Center in their re-branding and thought leadership efforts. After 4 years at the Soderquist Leadership Center, she briefly served as a creative director for Mitchell Communications, before taking some time to pursue a Master of Theological Studies with an emphasis in Theology and Art at Duke University. Stacie returned to Northwest Arkansas in 2019 and plugged into the University of Arkansas ecosystem. She currently works for the Office of Entrepreneurship and Innovation and creates courses for Executive Education programs.
