Vatican Council II – Sixty Years Later

Lifelong Learning | Available (Membership Required)

In 1963, Pope John XXIII opened Vatican Council II with some 2,500 bishops in attendance. Today, sixty years later, the world is still feeling the effects of this historic gathering. Pope Francis was once asked if there would be a Vatican Council III. His response was, "We have not yet implemented Vatican Council II." This course will examine some of the issues raised by Vatican Council II from an historical and theological perspective, as well as its accomplishments and its legacy.
