Colonies and Territories and Possessions - Oh My! A History of United States Colonial Rule

Lifelong Learning | Available (Membership Required)

America's little-known colonial empire has an intriguing history and continues to this day. This course will focus on regions of the world where the American flag flies but where U.S. citizens have limited rights. We will study the history of colonization, how some territories have become states and others have yet to become states. We will also look to future prospects of over 4 million Americans who don't live in the 50 states.
