Catholic Social Teaching (CST) and Pope Leo XIV
Lifelong Learning | Registration opens 8/20/2026 9:00 AM EDT
While some have tried to dismiss Catholic Social Teaching as "the Church's best kept secret," Pope Leo has been bringing it front and center. So, what is CST? What are its Biblical, Magisterial, and more recent roots? Why does Pope Leo think this can ancient wisdom can help us sort out the challenges of today's new technologies.
Students will explore ancient and current Church teachings, how the Popes Francis and Leo want us to understand the mission of the Church in the World, our role/responsibility in carrying the mission out, and how it might help us grapple with contemporary questions of war, migration, care for creation, and even surviving artificial intelligence.
