Have you always wanted to learn American Sign Language but felt too nervous to begin? This fun, beginner-friendly course is designed for learners with no prior ASL experience. In a relaxed and supportive environment, you'll learn basic signs, practice simple phrases, and begin communicating with confidence at your own pace. Mistakes are welcomed— they're part of the learning process! Through interactive activities, games, and guided practice, you'll discover that learning ASL can be enjoyable, rewarding, and stress-free. Come ready to sign, smile, and connect with others while learning ASL.

Members may take one section of this class (either 4:30pm or 6:15pm).

This class is virtual and will not have a physical onsite class location. You must have your own device to participate. The virtual meeting link will be sent in your confirmations.

A. R. James, PhD in Education and has more than fifteen years of experience teaching and developing ASL courses for adult learners in classroom and online settings. She is passionate about creating welcoming, interactive learning environments where beginners can build confidence, communicate with others, and enjoy the learning process. Her engaging, discussion-based approach encourages participants to learn at their own pace while discovering that American Sign Language is both practical and fun.
