The Benefits of Strength Training for Life's Journey

Lifelong Learning | Available (Membership Required)

Research continues to show that strength training is one of the most powerful, and often overlooked, tools for healthy aging. Did you know we begin losing muscle mass as early as age 30, with that loss accelerating after age 60? Over time, this can affect balance, mobility, bone health, confidence, and the ability to continue doing the activities we love.

In this engaging session, we'll explore what happens to our muscles as we age, why strength matters for maintaining independence, and the simple, research-backed strategies that support healthy, active aging. We'll also discuss the important role of nutrition, the growing connection between strength and brain health, and how strength training supports the movements that matter most in everyday life.

The session includes a brief guided class demonstration so participants can experience Vivo's approachable, evidence-based training firsthand, followed by plenty of time for questions and discussion.
